John Lythall
Managing Director, aged 60
John has a background in computer engineering and systems distribution having worked in this sector since the early 70’s. He co-founded the company in 1985 prior to which he was Managing Director of Hawke Electronics plc a business where he and others had undertaken a management buyout and subsequently sold to Lex Service plc. Apart from his responsibilities for the overall management of the group’s operations his principal responsibilites include all Group financial matters and working closely with the other executive directors on the determination of the group’s overall strategy.
Peter Kear
Sales Director, aged 53
Peter co-founded IS Solutions in 1985. Prior to this he was Divsional Director for Hawke Electronics, then a subsidiary of Lex Service plc. He is responsible for both the sales and business development aspects of the company and by keeping in close touch with client needs he has been able to identify potential suppliers and new emerging business areas for future growth.
Jim Dodkins
Technical Director, aged 52
Jim Dodkins joined IS Solutions in 1991 and was appointed to the ~Board in May 1997. He has a background in software development and has spent over 30 years in the computer services industry. He is responsible for the Company’s strategic direction in technology, specialising in solution architecture for IS Solutions and its clients. Prior to joining IS Solutions he worked for Logica plc in various roles, where he gained wide industry experience and later managed the division responsible for projects in the Broadcast and Media sector.
Jon West
Marketing Director, aged 49
Jon West was appointed to the Board on the 6th May 1997. Previously Jon was Managing Director of Visual Assets, a Marketing Agency specialising in graphic design for the Internet and lead the team which joined IS Solutions in December 1996 upon its entry into the web arena and now concentrates on producing a cohesive approach for our range of activities in the IT market place.
Barrie A Clark*
Non-executive Chairman, aged 62
Barrie Clark was appointed to the board in 1997 when the company was floated on the AIM market. He is a Chartered Certified Accountant who has held numerous executive roles in industry for over 40 years. He was a founding shareholder and Director of the Link Organisation Plc which reversed into Spring Group Plc in 1990 where he became FD then COO before becoming Non Executive Chairman. He is now a Non Executive Director of Educational Development International Plc, Network Group Holdings Plc and a number of private companies.
Peter English*
Non-executive Director, aged 66
Peter English was appointed to the Board in 1986 representing Fleming Ventures the first institutional investor when the company was founded, and subsequently became an independent director when this investment was sold. Peter has been involved in investing in the technology sector since 1982. He is an engineer with 20 years' experience in both the semiconductor industry, at GEC Semiconductors and Nortel. He co-founded Foresight Group, formerly VCF Partners, in 1984. He is on the following Boards; Ibis VCT plc, iCore Ltd, Actimax Ltd, Aigis Blast Protection Ltd.
Michael Tinling*
Non-executive Director, aged 62
Michael Tinling has been Company Secretary since incorporation of the Company. He was appointed to the Board in July 2007. He is a practising solicitor with over 35 years experience in corporate transactional work
Roger McDowell
Non-executive Director, aged 52
Appointed to the Board in January 2008 Roger is a seasoned senior manager of 30 years’ standing. Having developed the Oliver Ashworth Group through dramatic growth, main market listing and sale to St. Gobain, he then took a number of non-executive roles including chairmanships in both public and private equity backed businesses. Roger is currently a Non-Executive Director of IDMOS PLC and Augean Plc and also a Director of several private Companies.
